Live Life Local
Created for SafeCo Insurance with Curator PR
The Live Life Local platform aimed to engage and connect people enthusiastic about the types of recreational vehicles SafeCo insures. As a digital product—offering useful functionality and featuring curated content to encourage adventure and user contribution—initial audience interest was promising despite limited features and device support.
To enable scalability, and increase usability and adoption, we responded to audience and administrator needs with an improved platform and product. A responsive web application expanded the experience across devices, while a native mobile app companion provided deeper interaction. Ultimately reinforcing SafeCo Insurance as a forward-thinking business, investing in ways to provide people meaningful service, even if they’re not customers - yet.Launch Project
Shifting the user experience from passive to active transformed engagement by providing users relevant ways to explore and contribute content. Rethinking and creating a platform that could scale with user and administrator needs improved the quality of the product.
The product relies on fresh content that’s easy to interact with in many contexts. We created a system to rapidly publish content, contributed by different sources to a single platform, and translate well as a consistent product experience across multiple devices.
The platform is a combination of a responsive web application and custom content management system as well as a native mobile companion application.
Seek and enjoy
To help unlock creative solutions, we focused on the factors with the greatest influence on the intended experience. Including where most people will discover and use the product and the ability to easily serve personal interests. Reducing barriers to entry and creating visual methods of search led the strategy for features and functionality.
A clear navigation organized a variety of choices to help users who navigate differently. The user experience and design surfaced necessary information, making new content easy to find and relevant to the user.
The experience is social. Optional user profiles aggregated activity and encourage discovery of other users with similar interests and adventures. Profiles also provided an integrated way to feature influencers contributing sponsored content.
Useful social features included the ability to create and share a set of locations. This didn’t require logging in, making it easier to opt into, and contributing to a network effect.
On the go
A native mobile companion app added deeper engagement for active users. The same functionality and features as the web application, but an integration of native device capabilities often used on the go.
Access to the camera and GPS enabled users with the mobile app the ability of adding content in the moment from the road—including marked routes and locations.
Over the last year we have been working on a growing number of exciting products and platforms both internally and for our clients. These types of projects require that we constantly adapt and evolve our processes. WINTR’s approach of combining strategy, design and technology throughout the entire flow of our process allows us to bring a unique blend of software development philosophies and lean startup methodologies to our work.
One of the most impactful of these philosophies has been the use of Minimum Viable Product (MVP) thinking.
